It is Friday in Mexico. We miss nature, we miss the cobblestone streets, we miss the smell of corn roasting on charcoal and the mountainous backdrop.
It is time to take to the road and travel 50 minutes, leaving Mexico City for one of our favorite places in Morelos, Tepoztlán.
We visit Los Colorines for lunch and savor a tortilla soup and itacate to savor the ancestral flavors of corn we so dearly miss. We then go on a walk through the middle of the market to buy handmade candles, the transcendental objects in our life.
Next, we stop by Recikla, a store that’s filled with rare and antique books. The space inside is amazingly curated, perfect to accompany the candles that we just bought in the market to read and light on a rainy day in the city.
We will close our visit at our favorite bar, Margarita Concept Garden, inside the iconic La Posada del Tepozteco hotel, showcasing a great selection of mezcals and gins. Yet, what we like the most about Margarita is its landscaping and extraordinary service.
See you soon latecheckouters …
